EUC Orienteering 2025 has concluded in Lodz

The European Universities Orienteering Championship has finally concluded on the 27th of July with a heartfelt and joyful Closing Ceremony at the AZS Lodz Stadium.
The ceremony brought together athletes, volunteers, organisers, and supporters in a joyful celebration of achievement, friendship, and sporting excellence.
The European Universities Orienteering Championship brought together skilled student-athletes from across Europe for a celebration of precision, endurance, and determination, hosting 149 participants, representing 58 universities from 16 countries.
Over the course of several thrilling days, participants navigated challenging terrains, pushed personal limits, and fostered international friendships. The championship tested not only physical strength, but also mental focus, teamwork, and the spirit of fair play.
The Closing ceremony also featured the award ceremony for the winners of all races and categories.
In the men's sprint distance race, the podium was taken by:
- Jachym Coufal from Masaryk University (CZE)
- Jakub Chaloupsky from Czech University of Life Science Prague (CZE)
- Filip Adamek from Mendel University in Brno (CZE)
In the women's sprint race, the first three places were conquered by:
- Hanna Sudol from the University School of Physical Education in Wroclaw (POL)
- Jana Peterova from Charles University (CZE)
- Dominika M’ero from Semmelweis University (HUN)
On the 26th of July, it was time for the middle distance race, which took place at the terrain of Brus ex-military training ground.
In the women's middle-distance race, the most successful were:
- Jana Peterova from Charles University (CZE)
- Hanna Sudol from the University School of Physical Education in Wroclaw (POL)
- Lucie Semikova from the Czech University of Life Science Prague (CZE)
In the men's middle distance race, the three fastest competitors who secured podium positions were:
- Jakub Chaloupsky from the Czech University of Life Science Prague (CZE)
- Timo Tantanini from Bern University of Applied Sciences (SUI)
- Ambrus Demeter from Eszterházy Károly University (HUN)
In the sprint relay, the student-athletes competed in three categories: men-men, women-women, and women-men.
In the men-men category, the top podium was occupied by:
- Simon Jules Humbel & Laurin Florian Maurer from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (SUI)
- Vit Cech & Martin Gajda from Czech Technical University in Prague (CZE)
- Tadas Dementavicius & Adomas Juozapas Casas from Vilnius University (LTU)
In the women- women category, the podium saw:
- Jana Peterova and Jana Pekarova from Charles University (CZE)
- Kamila Kiss and Laura ‘Odor from Eotvos Lorand University (HUN)
- Aleksandra Ciura and Katarzyna Ciesiolka from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (POL)
In the mixed relay, the medals went around the necks of:
- Jakub Chaloupsky & Lucie Semikova from the Czech University of Life Science Prague (CZE)
- Hanna Sudol & Jan Sztranek from the University School of Physical Education in Wroclaw
- Ambrus Demeter & Fruzsina Mag from Eszterházy Károly University (HUN)
The winners in the overall team category was dominated by the following Czech Universities:
Charles University; Czech University of Life Sciences Prague ; Masaryk University.
The Closing Ceremony wrapped up with speeches from the Vice-President of the Organizing Committee, Beata Winczewska, and Dusan Vystavel, SCAC Chair and EUSA Technical Delegate.
The EUSA flag was passed to the representative from the 2027 hosts of the championship, which will be in Kastamonu (TUR). This symbolic moment marked the official end of this year's Championship and passed on the responsibility and excitement to the next host city.
The final ceremony wrapped up the event with warmth, gratitude, and emotional tributes to every participant’s journey. As medals were awarded and applause filled the air, the room carried both joy and the rewarding farewell.
EUC Orienteering 2025 reminded us that sport is not just about winning, but about belonging, growing, and connecting.
